Огонь покинул каменные очаги Вяйнёля**,
Свет исчез.
Тёмными ночами ничто не озаряет небеса,
И так трудно найти дитя огня.
Огненный орёл с пламенными перьями,
Созданный из искр.
Укко*** разжёг огонь Кокко,
Возгорелось пламя.
Лети в ночь, верни нам свет,
Что покинул каменные очаги,
Найди свет, Огненный орёл,
Лети сквозь небо, да будет свет,
Тёмные небеса воспылали огнём,
Когда Кокко пролетел сквозь небеса,
После дитя, дитя огня,
Парящего через эфирные своды.
Эфирные девы качали колыбель дитя огня
В звёздных небесах,
Ускользнувшего из рук Госпожи Эфира,
Сбежавшего из своей серебристой колыбели.
Спускаясь с небесных куполов,
Вверх и вниз,
На краю небес,
Облаков Северного Грома.
*Кокко – огромный костёр, который в Финляндии разжигают на Иванов День (Юханнус).
** Вяйнёля – страна, родина богатыря Вяйнямёйнена из эпоса "Калевала".
